The Women of Somalia, brutalized and degraded →
moxielicious: You’re next,” the Shabab warned the girl, a frail 17-year-old who was living with her brother in a squalid refugee camp. Several months later, the men came back. Five militants burst into her hut, pinned her down and gang-raped her, she said. They claimed to be on a jihad, or holy war, and any resistance was considered a crime against Islam, punishable by death. “I’ve had some...

frustration
when you’re actually trying to make an effort to write and not procrastinate like you usually do and you just get overwhelmed by it all the story the characters the message the driving plot and you just sit there feeling stupid wanting to make the first move ahhhh if only i had more practice and my mind was trained to think in a straight, productive, progressive line instead it...

i think daniel handler is a remarkably hilarious fellow that i should like to meet one day. i still remember bringing home a book in “a series of unfortunate events” and my mother reading the back and how it tells you to put the book down now and find something nicer to read. she took it seriously and told me i should not read the book then. his strange, depressing humor was quite...

on painting
i have a real urge to paint something this weekend but i need ideas and inspiration. i don't want to do just to a typical nature scenery or still life piece. something unique, meaningful, combining pop culture, illustration, drawing and classic art.
i understand this is kind of like asking people to give me ideas for an autobiographical song, because i want this painting to mirror my thoughts and feelings but still explore something universal and relatable.
perhaps something dark or pensive.
nothing hipster found on Tumblr please.
poems, lyrics, phrases, verbs, nouns, adverbs--anything is welcome.
